Prof. Xiao used to be the Chair of the Department of International Economics and Trade. He is the Academic Affair Secretary of the Faculty of Social Science of Peking University, consultant for UNESCO PROAP & SEAMEO RIHED, Director of the Beijing Center of Pan-Pacific Economic Studies, Chief Economist of Beijing Economic Reform Forum, former consultant of the World Bank, General Coordinator of Chinese Association of World Economy in Beijing  metropolitan area. Prof. Xiao's research interests include world economy; economics of network.
