Remarks from the Director of CCISSR

After more than twenty years’ reform and opening to the outside world, China’s insurance industry has been playing more and more important role in China's financial system. Commercial insurance and social security are the two supporting pillars of China’s Security system.The opening-up, reform,and the rapid growth of the economy create an urgent demand for research on insurance and social security theories and policies, as well as for high-quality education.

The CCISSR is being established in response to such an urgent demand. We hope that the Center could strengthen collaboration among insurance academia, regulatory bodies and the business community; promote theoretical and practical research in insurance and social security; and propagate insurance and social security knowledge by utilizing the worldwide resources in the field of insurance education and research, thus to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and views, information sharing, education, and international cooperation in the field of China’s insurance and social security. The Center will build an integrated base for communication among government bodies, the industry, education and research forces.

We are fortunate to have an internationalized Council of Senior Advisors and a strong research team. The CCISSR pools top-class experts, renowned professors, and brilliant young elites from all over the world. I believe, the Center will successfully attain her overall objective relying on efforts of everyone. I believe, we will contribute to the education and research in the field of insurance and social security, as well as the reform and development of China’s insurance industry and Social Security System.
